Moloka'i

Little Moloka'i is astonishingly diverse. On the east side it is green and lush.
The Coconut Grove, planted by King Kamehameha V ca 1860, is right in the middle of the island, near Kaunakakai. The 10 acres look like a coconut wood.
Dawn is especially spectacular on Moloka'i, with the Mau'i siluette and the calm sea.
On Moloka'i Uncle Tom taught me how to weave the lau hala. First you pick the leaves from the lau hala tree. Then you clean the leaves, take away the little thorns, and wipe the leaves nice and smooth. Then you weave whatever you like. This is a bracelet.
